The never ending love story

I had a recent thought on how wonderful it is to have a support structure. People can say what they want about this subject but people need people. There is a underlying rule in the universe of empathy. I fully support this rule and whenever I see true human support of one another it drives me to tears. It is the most beautiful thing to witness. I am lucky to have a wonderful husband supporting me. My step dad is also a rock to rely on.
Viva to NOT being alone ever. To knowing that I don't have to demand love but that it will be there always in my support structure. To knowing that I can ask for help at any time of the day anywhere. This is the wonderful thing about life.
Love between people.

My pretty little Broken dustbin

What a weekend!. So relieved the next one is well on its way.
Through all the exhilaration of family visiting, Sassy being up in arms, crazy shopping sprees and sudden urges to spring clean - the Queen could not fit in enough time to rest. Therefor ended up with purple circles under the eyes and the energy of a snail. And that is exactly how I started this week.
And to crown it all my pretty little dustbin got wrecked. I tried to open the lid last night and realised that its pretty little neck got broken sometime through all the chaos.
But I have to admit: it all was an adventure on its own. My life is about adventures -isn't it??

1001 things to do before I die.....

I recently decided that this year will be our ADVENTURE year. Yippee...I will attempt to do things I have never done before. I will LIVE.
In all essence life is too short to sit back. Jay and I will cruise trough South Africa first. We have a wonderful country and I haven't even seen 30 % of it. On my list : hiking Blyde River canyon, horse riding trip in Kruger Park, Scuba diving Mozambique, so many I cant name them all. Then we will travel the world. Smoke a cigar in Cuba, eat pizza in Italy, drink vodka in Russia, make snow angels in the Alps. My head is turning with all the ideas, I think I should make a list of everything on this blog. Yes. And my camera will go everywhere with me. Pure bliss. Watch out world here we come!

Not a feat to be taken lightly !

Yesterday I had to take my darling Sassy to the vet. The poor Sassy was to be spayed. Believe me this was quite an ordeal. It made me realise how dependent these little creatures are of their masters. I just wish that people would realise that taking in a pet is a huge responsibility. Pets are completely dependent on what their masters decide would happen to them.
True to her nature Sassy did not take this feat lightly.
She handles this incident like a true diva with a hint of grumpiness. Although she blames me for the ache in her belly she looked at me with eyes full of love this morning. At least the midnight howling would be at an end....meooouw. A toast to Sassy. Here here.

Gloria's guide to fabulousness!!! WOW

Deon Chang what a philosophy!! I recently stumbled onto a tiny little book - Gloria's guide to fabulousness...now all I want to do is be fabulous! According to Gloria, fabulousness is a state of being, not predicted by your social status or looks, but by who you are, how you act, what you do and not do. I think its a wonderful philosophy for women to follow. I am now a champagne drinker - why should champagne only be served on occasions? I believe that chocolate is the root to all happiness. I now treat people the way I would treat my cat ( by the way I adore my cat ). I take long afternoon bubble baths with candles!.I take looong lunches at work O, golly ..Its a flamboyant way of living - indulging completely in life. Way to go Gloria - From now on I will buy the ELLE mag just to read your column. And I will also become fabulous. Mark my words.

I vowed to myself that from now on I am going to surround myself with positive, uplifting, inspiring people. Thank you for being all that. Life is too short to be anything else than joyful. We sometimes take for granted what we have and look through glasses of negativity at life. You seem to carry with you the antidote to that. THank you and love u Much MORE

Year end Function Protea 2008

I just haaaavvvve to include this. This is long overdue.. We had a masked ball for a year end at Protea. Me being on the social commitee for Protea had much to do with the planning. We had the function at a castle just out on Lynnwood road. Beautiful indeed. Look at us - we are masked!

Sassy Lashes - U R beautiful!

I want to introduce the lady in my life. A princess of the feline world. She became a part of our family at 6 weeks of age, a tiny little ball of fur with the most extraordinary colouring - pink; cream and grey. Since then, which is now a year later, she became part of our household and I am sure have almost taken it over. She is a playfull character, loving and most of the time very naughty. But I love her to pieces. She is a cat true to her nature. Sassy you are a darling!

The photograher in me

I recently discovered photography. WOW. Its so wonderful to capture images. I am taking pictures of everything. Thank you to Mariechen (WAVE) who introduced me properly to this stunning form of art. I dont know if I am any good but I posted some pictures I took at a wedding the other day. Wonderful to be part of the action again. And what of beautiful little Aymee Hope? I vow to myself to keep on taking pictures - good or bad. i will post some of these pics if they're any good at all. This is a wonderful way to nurture my creative side.

ViVa for the artist in me!!!

Honeymoon Galore!!!

We had an awsome honeymoon in the Cape. I just love the Cape. There is a certain misterious, old romantic air to it. Our trip started at Sedgefield near Knysna. The garden route is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately we encountered a little bit of windy weather, but what the heck its a HONEYMOON....
Then off to Cape Town - This city with its old world charm mixed with a new age cosmopolitan setup stole my heart.
Love the Karoo too - Desolation in the first degree. Nothing in sight for miles, only a long, black, straight tar road.
First pic is taken at Mosselbaai, 2nd at JC le Roux Wine estate; 3rd Hemanus and the last pic posted was taken in Knysna.

A walk down Memory Lane - THE WEDDING

Most recent BEST endeavour....

I will have to include some pictures of THE WEDDING. It is supposed to be the best day of your life....I have to confess... It was! Check the pics out, I think they are stunning. The wedding was on 11 October 2008 at Zebra Country Lodge. Beautiful venue.

It was surely a day to remember. Special thanks to Fritz, Jolien; Janet and and to you Mistique - you are the greatest. LOVE YA.

A humble beginning

To be honest : this is my first time blogging. Being quite new at this - I am struggling to find my blogging feet. What should I say, what colour what everything!!!!!!

Yes, well, I had a new years resolution : I decided to start becoming on par with my new aged technology fundi friends. walla : Starting a blog. I will therefor include with this all my endeavours and thoughts passed and present. All captured in a space called "The web".

I will now start hunting for interesting things and thoughts to put my blog up there with the rest.

This will become my mantra, karma, everything fancy. I will provide!
